Registrations and Tryouts for the
2011 Spring Season Are This Weekend!

Registrations for the Spring, 2011, season are open. Unlike in past years, registration this year will be done exclusively online.

Any child who wishes to play during the 2011 season should be registered online between August 1, 2010 and September 12, 2010.

If you do not have access to a computer, you have the option of coming down to the CYB Fields on Route 110 and using our computers to complete your application.

To register in person -- keeping in mind that it's really easier and faster to register from home -- come down to the CYB Field House at the CYB Fields on Route 110 on Saturday, September 11, between 9 AM and 3 PM, or on Sunday, September 12, between 10 AM and 3 PM.

If you choose to pay by check rather than by credit card, you may likewise come down to the CYB Field House at the CYB Fields on Route 110 on Saturday, September 11, between 9 AM and 3 PM, or on Sunday, September 12, between 10 AM and 3 PM.

TRYOUTS
Players age 10 to 12 who did not play Youth Majors last year may choose to try out for the Youth Majors division. Those who do not try out for Youth Majors will be assigned to a Youth Farm team.

Players age 13 to 15 who did not play Senior Majors last year may choose to try out for the Senior Majors division. Those who do not try out for Senior Majors will be assigned to a Senior Farm team.

NOTE: All players who will be ten, eleven and twelve year olds in 2011 according to CYB Cal Ripken rules, and who played in the Youth Farm divisions (YLF AA or YLF AAA) as nine, ten or eleven year olds in 2010, must tryout for Youth Majors if they wish to be eligible to pitch in the Youth Farm divisions (YLF AA or YLF AAA) during the 2011 season. Players selected to play in Youth Majors are automatically ineligible to pitch in the Farm divisions should they decline to move to Youth Majors.

Tryouts for Youth Majors and Senior Majors for the Spring 2011 season are scheduled for Saturday, September 11, 2010, and Sunday, September 12, 2010, at the CYB complex on Route 110 in Chelmsford.

To try out, complete your online registration, and come down to the CYB Fields on Route 110 on Saturday, September 11, between 9 AM and 3 PM, or on Sunday, September 12, between 10 AM and 3 PM. Tryouts are on a first-come first-serve basis. (Rain dates: September 18 and 19.)

Please bring a copy of your Registration Confirmation to the tryouts.

If you miss this opportunity to try out for the Spring 2011 season, we cannot guarantee that you will have an opportunity to try out next spring.

Note Regarding Farm Extension
In the spring, there will be an evaluation held for all Farm Extension players to determine their team placement. Some players will play in the YLFEX-National Division, which is predominately made up of eight year old players and less experienced nine year old players. Some will play in the YLFEX-American Division, which is predominately made up of nine year old players and some more experienced eight year old players. A very few 9 year old players will be offered the chance to play in the Youth Farm AA division, which consists mostly of 10 year olds.

FIRST-TIME PLAYERS
Cal Ripken and Babe Ruth league rules require that parents/guardians of all first year participants present an original birth certificate to league officials. Therefore, you can either upload a scanned copy of your child's birth certificate as you complete your registration (you'll see instructions as you go), or show us a copy in person. If you choose the latter option, stop by the Chelmsford Youth Baseball complex on Route 110 on Saturday, September 11, between 9 AM and 3 PM, or on Sunday, September 12, between 10 AM and 3 PM, and to present a birth certificate to league officials, who will be there for this purpose.

If you cannot make it on either of those days, you will have to make arrangements to show a birth certificate to a league official at another time. Under no circumstances will a child be allowed to play until a league official has seen and authenticated a birth certificate.
