2025 Umpire Class & Registration

Read this article for everything you need to know about being an Umpire for the 2025 Baseball Season!

Anyone who is 13 years old or who will turn 13 by April 30, 2025 is eligible to Umpire for CYB this year.

 

I. NEW UMPIRES

If you have never umpired before and are interested in umpiring this year you must do the following:

  1. Register on Sports Engine at this link:
    1. https://chelmsfordyouthbaseball.sportngin.com/register/form/178697663
    2. You must register with your own email address – not a parent’s email.
    3. This will ensure that you are notified of league-wide cancellations.
  2. Attend 2 classes – one class per session.  Bring something to write with and something to take notes on to class. The dates are as follows:
    1. Session 1 – attend 1 class
      1. Sunday 3/16  2-4 pm Chelmsford Police Department Community Room
      2. Monday 3/17  6-8 pm Chelmsford Police Department Community Room
    2. Session 2 – attend 1 class
      1. Sunday 3/23  2-4 pm Chelmsford Police Department Community Room
      2. Monday 3/24  6-8 pm Chelmsford Police Department Community Room
  3. Attend On-Field Training and Uniform Pickup (Date TBD)

 

II. UMPIRES WITH 1 YEAR of Experience

  1. Register with the Sports Engine Link above.
  2. Attend 1 class on one of the 4 dates/times listed above. Bring something to write with and to take notes on to the class you attend.
  3. Attend On-Field Training and Unform Pickup
  4. Check to make sure you can still log into the RefereeSchedule.com site.

III. RETURNING UMPIRES with 2 or more years of Experience

  1. Register with the Sports Engine Link above.
  2. Attend Uniform Pickup.
  3. Check to make sure you can still log into the Referee Schedule site.

New Umpires do not need to register for the RefereeSchedule.com site yet, we will go over that in the first session.
